Argyle Sweater Vest in Cashmere

Not anymore! This sweater's gone rogue. And I didn't think I'd like it.
It was a cashmere sweater vest with an argyle pattern. Not anymore!  And I didn’t think I’d like it before I put it together.
But I do.
But I do.
The sweater was actually pretty thick cashmere, probably cost a small fortune when new.

And the argyle made some strange coil patterns, which gave me a weird selection to work with.

Finally settled on this arrangement. And the squarish shape seems to work. At least on me.

Choices.

This was new for me. I don't generally like swirling two colors together, but for girly barrettes, it works.

For Little Girls

Oh, so tiny! People always love to give advice. Sometimes I cringe, like when an old man told me I could make more money buying some plastic fishing accessory for $2 a piece and sell them for $4.

But my nephew's wife suggested teeny little flowers on barrettes. Now that is a suggestion worth listening to.

A fellow artisan also suggested putting my key charms on elastics.

These are really adorable, and only 1" across, 1/2" thick. What grandma wouldn't buy one of these for their granddaughter?

I was able to make a small trivet and one mug rug. Pretty pastels for spring.

Back From Key West

So, I've just returned from Key West. Not my thing, but my daughter is stationed there in the Coast Guard, so we had a lovely visit with her and her husband.

It's overpriced, and overpopulated, but that's another story. It's time to get ready for spring shows, and yesterday was my first day back in the studio. (I've started referring to it as the freeze factory, it's so cold here!)
Key West is overpriced and overpopulated, ruined by human overpopulation, but that’s another story. It’s time to get ready for spring shows, and yesterday was my first day back in the studio. (I’ve started referring to it as the freeze factory, it’s so cold here!)
Anyway, it felt good to be getting new work ready, and starting off with these bright colors got me in the right mood, I think.

My first show is only one month away, and I feel as though I’ve been on vacation for way too long.
So, here's to spring!
